How Tutoring Works

Step 1: Book Your Session

Book your first lesson at no cost, which includes a consultation. You can also send an email for logistical or technical questions that do not require meeting with the student.

Step 2: First Lesson

Experience your first lesson, which will include time to discuss your child’s needs and assess their current levels of ability. I will spend time working with your child, answer any of your questions, and we will determine if my services are a good fit for your child.

Step 3: Watch Them Grow

If you are happy with your first session, book your next lesson. Choose from our FLEX plan or our customizable GROWTH subscription plan. Watch your child thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What subjects do you tutor?

– Reading, Language Arts, Math (through Geometry), Science, Social Studies, History, and Engineering. I also teach English to people who are learning to speak English.

Do you work with Special Needs students?

I do have experience working with students with special needs and IEPs. We should definitely discuss what you are looking for and if my skills will be a good fit for you.

Is this tutoring offered online or in-person?

Right now, this tutoring is online only using Zoom and Google Meets.

How fast do you respond to inquiries or booking requests?

Booking requests and inquiries are usually processed within 24-48 hours, excluding weekends.

When do I pay for the tutoring session?

All tutoring sessions must be paid for before the session begins. Payment is processed when you book your appointment.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellations must be made more than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment to qualify for a full refund.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment may be rescheduled or will qualify for a 50% refund.

Do you have real human beings who respond to emails?

Yes! You’ll be hearing from me personally. I look forward to hearing from you.

Can the GROWTH subscription plan be customized for specific needs?

Absolutely! The purpose of the subscription plan it to give you, the family, a price break for purchasing in bulk. If you want to set up a different schedule, tutor more than one subject, or even tutor more than one child, we will discuss our calendars and payment options before we begin.

Do you offer homework help?

Yes! Some students need help staying on task, staying organized, or require support with homework on a regular basis. We can discuss a schedule that works for you.

Do you offer any assessments?

Yes! I do Reading Fluency Assessments for anyone receiving reading tutoring, but anyone can have this assessment done. This simple assessment determines how fast or slow a person reads, how accurately they read, and how much appropriate expression they use when reading. This type of “test” can be used to screen for difficulties and identify appropriate reading materials for developing readers. Results are often used to determine if intervention is necessary when a student is struggling.

How do I help my child choose a book at the right level?

A reading fluency assessment will identify your child’s reading level. Once you know their level, it is easy to find books and other reading material just right for them. In fact, I can help you determine texts they can read independently for pleasure, texts that will keep them developing as a reader, and texts that will require support and would be great to read to them.
