Nice to Meet You

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

I’m a 30-year veteran teacher with a specialty in reading instruction, curriculum development, and STEAM education. Recognized as Teacher of the Year (2022) and Los Angeles County Semi-Finalist (2023), I bring proven results and a passion for helping every learner thrive.

My teaching philosophy is simple: meet each learner at their level, create a safe environment, and make learning engaging and fun.

  • My specialties in education include foundational reading and math skills, bilingual education, and STEM education.
  • Teaching the fundamentals of reading is one of my biggest strengths, and I understand how to build a solid understanding of how numbers work so math is understandable.
  • I am thoroughly trained and highly experienced in working with children and adults that do not speak English but want to learn. Not only is my credential embedded with this certification, but I have taken additional courses to ensure I am equipped to work with students around the globe who express an interest in learning and practicing English.
  • I helped open a STEAM school, shaping policy and writing curriculum designed to promote critical thinking and problem solving. I encourage questions, ideas, mistakes, and the integration of science, technology, and math across education.
  • Working with students with special needs is also among my strengths. Whether the student or the family needs a little extra support, I can help.
